How To: Close GL Calendar when unposted entries exist
Product: Clarus
Applies to: All
Article type: How To
Summary:
The General Ledger documentation says that it is possible to close a GL calendar period even though there are unposted entries. How is this done?
Details:
The GL system allows a calendar period to be closed even though all entries for the period have not been posted. To allow this requires an override of the system’s settings. This can be a temporary change, left in place only until the period has been closed, and then modified back to the original setting. Or it can be left in place as a permanent change – depending on the policy of your organization.
Resolution/Workaround:
To close a calendar even though there are entries that are not posted, go to File > System > Setup > Allow Override. Change the Allow Override parameter to “Y” to allow the calendar to be closed.
