Error: #Name?
Product: BizInsight
Applies to: MAS 500
Article Type: Error
Summary:
When executing a BizInsight formula in an Excel worksheet, the user receives a #Name? error.
Details:
This error will occur if Excel does not recognize the stated formula.
Excel will not recognize a BizNet formula if the BizInsight dll (Excel Add-in) is not installed on the workstation or an incorrect formula name is specified.
#NAME? can also occur if the ‘xlr8r.dna’ is checked read only.
Resolution/Workaround:
To resolve this issue, do the following:
Double-click the cell with the error and verify that the formula is spelled correctly.
If the formula is spelled corectly, check if the BizInsight dll is present in the standard folder (typically C:\Program Files\Biznet Software\BizExcelerator). The file is named MAS500.dll.
If the dll is absent, open the Client Workstations folder on the installation CD. Copy both files, the MAS500.dll and xlr8r.dna, to the standard client folder referenced above. Open Excel and run the formula.
If the error still occurs, navigate to the client BizExcelerator folder, right click on the xlr8r.dna file and uncheck the ‘Read Only’ property. Restart Excel.
