Product:  BizInsight
Applies to:  MAS 500
Article Type:  Error

Summary:
This error occurs when a BizInsight formula is executed, but the server defined in the connection file is invalid or the user is restricted.

Details:
The file that defines the server/database connection is called MAS500.conn and will usually be found on the shared network folder created during installation. Refer to the Quick Start Guide on setting up your MAS500.conn file. The first time a BizInsight function is compiled, the MAS500.conn file becomes MAS500.encrypted. This file can no longer be edited and must be replaced with a new MAS500.conn file if changes need to be made.
Common causes for this error are a misspelled server name or the user defined in the connection string does not have access to the specified server.

Resolution/Workaround:
Verify that the user has access to the server. If not, configure the user to have access. Restart Excel and execute a BizInsight formula. If the error still occurs or the user already has access, delete the MAS500.encrypted file in the shared network folder. Copy over the MAS500.CONN file from the installation CD to the shared network folder. Open the file in Notepad and enter the appropriate information. Restart Excel and execute a BizInsight formula.

If the provided Resolution/Workaround does not resolve your issues, please contact BizNet Software Support for further assistance.
