Error: #VALUE
Product: BizInsight
Applies to: EAS
Article Type: Error
Summary:
When executing a BizInsight function, the user can receive this message:
#VALUE!
Details:
#VALUE indicates a problem exists with the function or with the setup of BizInsight. It can also occur when a DrillDown user opens a BizInsight report with Automatic Calculation turned on.
Resolution/Workaround:
If the #VALUE occurs in a cell with nested functions, separate them into different cells and run each individual formula to check for function specific errors. If #VALUE! occurs in each separate cell, refer to the following solutions.
1. The error message can appear when you use the wrong number of arguments in a BizInsight function, or when you call for a mathematical operation that refers to cells that contain text entries.
To correct: Check the parameters of the function by putting your cursor over the current cell containing the #VALUE! and carefully evaluate your arguments in the formula bar. If necessary, use the document “BizExcelerator for EAS Function Listing‟ in the documentation folder on the “BizNet Insight™ for SunGard EAS‟ Installation CD to better determine valid arguments.
2. The InsightConfig.xml file in the network share drive is inaccurate.
To correct: Open this file in notepad and check the connection string definitions and the syntax. Refer to the EAS documentation for this information.
3. There are too many user types assigned in the license file. For example, there are only 5 available Designer names for a particular license file. If the users name is defined as the sixth, the error will occur, along with the “Not authorized to change BizNet BizExcelerator formulas‟ error.
To correct: More licenses must be purchased, or change the desired users name to an available slot. Refer to your BizExcelerator for SunGard EAS Installation and Reference Guide, Section 6.3 – Modify InsightUsers.ini, to change the user type settings.
4. If the user experiencing the error is a DrillDown user, check their Excel workbook calculation settings.
