How To: Change the fiscal period or year of an analysis set

Article Type: How To
When an analysis set is dropped into a spreadsheet, it is pre-configured to retrieve data for a particular fiscal year and fiscal period. It isn’t clear how to change those default parameters to something else so that you can retrieve different data.
An analysis set uses a function to retrieve its data. When you drag and drop an analysis set, you’ll see that the cell that you dragged the analysis set to in your worksheet contains a description of the analysis set. This cell contains the function that the analysis set uses and can be edited using the Formula Editor just like other BizExcelerator functions. Parameter values can be changed or updated to use a cell reference.

Double-click on the cell to open the Formula Editor and make the necessary adjustments to retrieve the data that you want. Don’t forget that if the analysis set created a pivot table, you’ll need to refresh the pivot table after adjusting the function so that it will be updated with the right data. You can refresh the pivot table by right-clicking anywhere in the pivot table and choosing BizNet Pivot Refresh or by typing Alt+F5 when your cursor is in the pivot table.
