Error: “Access to the remote server is denied because no login-mapping exists”

Summary:
When adding a BizInsight function to an Excel worksheet or changing the company parameter of an existing function, the following error occurs:

Error: .Net SqlClient Data Provider: Access to the remote server is denied because no login-mapping exists. dataset [MAS90_Balances_All]

Details:
This error occurs when the user’s login has not been added to the security properties of the Linked Server for the company referenced by the function.

Resolution/Workaround:
To resolve this issue, do the following:
1. Open SQL Server Management Studio Express on the server that hosts the Linked Servers, usually the MAS 90/200 server but it could be the user’s local workstation.  If you’re not sure where the SQL Server is located, open the BizFunctions.xml file in C:\Program Files\BizNet Software, find the Datasource1 entry and then look at the DataConnection property where it says “Server=” for the name of the server where SQL Server is installed.
2. Verify that the user exists under Security in the left pane.  If the user does not exist, add the user following the instructions provided in the BizInsight Installation Guide on www.biznetsoftware.com/products/sage/mas90_200.
3. Once the user has been confirmed to exist in SQL Server security, right-click on the Linked Server for the company that the user is trying to access and choose Properties.
4. Click on Security in the left pane and click on Add in the right pane to add a new local login.
5. Select your new SQL user from the Local login drop down and select the Impersonate checkbox.
6. Click OK.
