Error: “Could not encrypt data” when editing the InsightUsers.ini

Summary:
When editing the InsightUsers.ini to add or remove users, the following error occurs when saving your changes:

Could not encrypt data
A critical error ocurred during the encryption process.
Subsequent attempts to edit the file fail with the same error.
Details:
This error will occur if one of the numbered entries in the InsightUsers.ini file is left in the file but no name is provided. For example:
[Designer Users]
1=admin
2=jsmith
3=
[Power Users]
1=hwalters
2=sjones
Notice the “3= “ under the Designer Users entry. This should either be removed or a user’s name added to complete the entry.
Resolution/Workaround:
To resolve this issue, do the following:
1. Copy the current InsightUsers.ini to another location or rename it.
2. Copy a new version of the file from the BizInsight for Sungard EAS installation package.
3. Open Excel and type CTRL+Shift+F10 to open the InsightUsers file editor.
4. Leave the user name blank and type in the BizInsight password. If you do not remember the password, refer to the Installation Guide for the password.
5. Once the editor is open, you can open your old InsightUsers.ini file and copy/paste your content into the new file being sure not to bring over the invalid line from the old file.
