Error: “This PivotTable is not valid”

Summary:
In Excel 2003, when adding a field to a drilldown pivot table, the following error occurs:

"This PivotTable is not valid"

Details:
This issue is a bug that has been resolved in Build 1.0.0.68.

Resolution/Workaround:
To resolve this issue, upgrade to Build 1.0.0.68.
To workaround this issue, make a change to the function the PivotTable is based on and then refresh the pivot table.
