Error: “Windows cannot open this file” when trying to install BizInsight

Summary:
When trying to run the bizaddin.application to install BizInsight, a Windows dialog opens with the message:

Windows cannot open this file
File:  bizaddin.application
To open this file, Windows needs to know what program created it.  Windows can go online to look it up automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programs on your computer.

Details:
This problem will occur if Internet Explorer 7 is not installed on the client workstation.  BizNet Software is using ClickOnce technology for deploying BizInsight.  For the .application file type to be properly recognized, Internet Explorer 7 must be installed.  This error only occurs with BizInsight Build 1.0.0.64 and earlier. 

Resolution/Workaround:
To resolve this issue, install the latest build, 1.0.0.68 or later.

To workaround the issue, you can resolve this issue by installing Internet Explorer 7.  Refer to the BizInsight Installation Guide for all client workstation system requirements to ensure that all requirements are satisfied.
