Article Type:  Error

Summary:
When dragging and dropping a function into an Excel workbook, the following error occurs:

Error: .Net SqlClient Data Provider:  Conversion failed when converting the varchar value ‘string' to data type int.  dataset [dataset name]

Details:
This error occurs when the Period Descriptions in the glprd table do not end in a number that indicates the period.  For example, “January” instead of “Period 1”.  While this is a user configurable field, Epicor XL Connect expects the period description to end in a number.

Resolution/Workaround:
To resolve this issue, append each period description with a number that indicates the period.  The Period Descriptions can be found in Epicor under General Ledger > Maintenance > Setup > Fiscal Years.

If the provided Resolution/Workaround does not resolve your issues, please contact BizNet Software Support for further assistance.
