Product:  BizInsight
Applies to:  V2-MAS 500
Article Type:  Problem

Summary:
After installing BizInsight, the user goes into Excel to verify the installation.  When the fx button is clicked and the category list is dropped down, there are no BizInsight function categories to choose from.  In the Manage Excel add-ins dialog, the Excel add-in is displayed as ‘Xlr8r’ when it should read “BizExcelerator for MAS 500”.

Details:
When the client workstation files are copied from a network location, the NTFS file system assigns zone information to the properties of the files.  The zone information blocks access to these files to protect your computer.  This zone information must be removed from these files in order for BizInsight to work correctly.

To verify whether zone information has been assigned to one of the files, right-click on one of the two files, MAS500.dll or Xlr8r.dna, and choose properties.  If you see the circled section displayed on the General tab, this file has zone information attached to it.

Resolution/Workaround:
To resolve this issue, click the Unblock button.  Close and reopen the properties for the file to make sure that the change did take effect.  If the security statement is no longer there, repeat these same steps for the other client workstation file that you copied over.

If choosing Unblock did not remove the security statement, then it is likely your login does not have sufficient privileges to the file to perform this action.   To remove the data streams, do the following:

1. Download the Streams utility from www.sysinternals.com.  Save and extract to an easily accessible directory.
2. Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories and then right-click on the Command Prompt and select to run as administrator.  If you do not see the option to run as administrator on your right-click menu, hold down the Shift key and then right-click.
3. If you are prompted for the credentials for the administrator user, enter those credentials and click OK.
4. A Command Prompt window will open.
5. At the prompt, type “cd” followed by the path to the directory to which you extracted the streams executable.  If there are spaces in the path, be sure to enclose the entire path in double-quotes.
6. At the prompt, type:

streams.exe –d “C:\Program Files\BizNet Software\BizExcelerator\*.*”

This will run the utility against all of our files.  You should get information back that two files were updated --- the MAS500.dll and the Xlr8r.dna.  If BizInsight was installed to a different directory than the default, be sure the change the path in the example to the correct directory path.

7. Close the Command Prompt dialog.
8. Open Excel and test and you should find that things are functional again.
